2013 Community Investment Award

This year’s STAR Awards featured three outstanding finalists for the prestigious Community Investment Award. The recipient of this award embodies the highest standards of good corporate citizenship and tangible evidence of the commitment of the mutual fund industry to help build better futures. Hennessy Funds—Community Giving & Volunteer Programs
HennessyFunds_PrimaryLogo_TagHennessy’s Community Giving and Volunteer efforts affect thousands of people in Novato, CA, and the northern San Francisco Bay area by sponsoring nearly every local school, sport, community and civic organization as well as the local chapters of several national charities with primary focus on serving youth and education. Not only does Hennessy financially contribute to nearly 150 organizations, their employees are encouraged to donate their time and energy through flexible work hours to work on charitable endeavors. Hennessy’s largest community giving effort is focused on the Okizu Foundation, an organization dedicated to easing the burden of childhood cancer. For more than 30 years, Okizu has provided peer support, mentoring, respite and recreating programs to meet the needs of all families in Northern California affected by childhood cancer. These programs are the result of a collaborative effort of Okizu and the pediatric oncology treatment centers in northern California.
